. . or . . . … well, you get the picture. Despite this, Crysis 2 is sometimes criticised for not being a first-person shooter. The reason that this is, is because you don't actually play as Crysis 2's main protagonist, Prophet. You play as John-117, a man who has been turned into a "Sentinel" by the scientists of the Blackwatch, and you take control of him as he makes his way through the game.
Unlike many other titles, Crysis 2 features a number of notable changes. First, there are now two different'maps' for you to explore. The first, and main,'map' is Crysis 2's predecessor's map, Crysis. The second map, is the brand new map, Jungle. The map was made for two reasons. The first being that the developers felt that a jungle map would make the game much more interesting and varied than the island-based map, which was the predecessor's map. The second reason is that it would be impossible to create a map of the size of the island, which the original game used, because of the fact that the CryEngine doesn't allow for that, and so a jungle map was made instead. Second, there are now only four classes, or specialties, to choose from. This makes the game much more easy to play, although it makes it harder to really "learn" the game. The four classes are called "Shock Trooper", "Scout", "Sniper" and "Assault". And now, we come to the third and most important change: "sniper only" as the multiplayer option for Crysis 2. You don't have to have a sniper gun to play, however, if you don't have one, you're quite limited in your weaponry, so if you want to be able to play the game as a sniper, you should definitely buy one. Otherwise, you won't be able to play the game to your full potential.
The fourth and final change that Crysis 2 brings is a much larger arsenal. Due to the changes that were made to the CryEngine, the game has roughly ten times more weapons than the first game. The only problem is that many of the weapons are either very similar, or are made of the same material. However, if you know how to make weapons, you'll be able to use any of the weapons in the game. The only really rare weapons are the Cib
